„World-Class“ and „Best hotel in Zermatt"

In the 28th “BILANZ” Hotel Ranking, THE OMNIA was honored “World-Class” – as the best hotel in Zermatt, ranking 9th overall among Switzerland’s top holiday hotels with a score of 96.2 out of 100 points. This ranking is one of Switzerland’s most respected guides, evaluating hotels based on a comprehensive set of criteria including quality of service, guest satisfaction, and overall experience.

The jury says:
“An icon of coolness and a prime example of unclassical elegance... The fact that you don't feel like an astonished extra in the entire work of art, but rather like visiting a friend with impeccable taste, is thanks to hotel director Christian Eckert. His team creates an ambience of comfort and is able to make every guest feel like a particularly important and favorite guest.”

Armanda Moreira de Sousa was elected Swiss Housekeeper of the Year 2024!

No matter how spectacular the design or how refined the gastronomy of a hotel, it is ultimately the hotel team that makes a stay special for guests. The “BILANZ” hotel ranking pays tribute to this fact: 217 experts elected the 11 best hotel employees in Switzerland.

Housekeeper of the Year 2024:
Armanda Moreira de Sousa

Armanda, we are so proud of you! Thank you for your tireless commitment to the comfort of our guests!

The jury says:
“Armanda Moreira de Sousa makes room for the individuality of each guest. She intuitively senses how much housekeeping presence is desired in the room and knows how to leave laptops, work materials and care utensils untouched as much as possible. With grounding calm, Armanda coordinates the good spirits on the floors, and as in the last eight years, in which she worked first as deputy and then as the responsible housekeeper at THE OMNIA, she will in all likelihood also ensure that hotel director Christian Eckert will not have a single guest complaint regarding housekeeping.”

André Kneubühler becomes new executive chef

André Kneubühler is a promising talent who will take over from the previous head chef Tony Rudolph: Tanja Grandits’ sous-chef since 2019 (2 Michelin stars, 19 GaultMillau points), the 30-year-old can look back on a wealth of experience in top gastronomy.

“We are delighted that we have been able to recruit André Kneubühler,” emphasises Christian Eckert, Managing Director. “With his own team, his expertise and his creative approach, he will give our Alpine Excellence concept his own distinctive signature.” Benjamin Anderegg will assist him as Executive Sous-Chef.

Tony Rudolph was instrumental in developing and refining the vegetarian-influenced “Alpine Excellence” concept. “His strong commitment to regionality and sustainability has given our cuisine a new authenticity,” thanks the hotel management.
